My work spans three areas:
(1) the communicative, affective, and organizational dimensions of social movements,
(2) caste in South Asia and South Asian diaspora, with particular attention to its persistence, travelability, and contemporary anti-caste organizing, and
(3) broadening communication theory by attending to the global dimensions of caste and its intersections with race, labor, and other structures of power and domination.
